my midnight heart

LONDON + BROOKLYN

london-based, new york-bred angélica allen crafts dreamy yet danceable pop with her project my midnight heart. combining deeply soulful vocals, ethereal harmonies, poetic lyrics, and 1980’s influenced soundscapes, she produces a brand of experiementa pop that is equally reminiscent of phil collins and peter gabriel as it is janelle monae and solange.

following the success of her previous work—including shows supporting tegan and sara, solange, and blood orange and features in pitchfork, rolling stone, and vice—angélica retreated to focus on music production and sound design.

fully delving into her art while the world around her seemed to tumble into chaos during the trump presidency and a worldwide pandemic, angélica found a new voice and created a sacred space to nurture this distinctly eclectic vision.

through her forthcoming project saint, angélica presents an alternate, empathetic view of the future in which the traditionally marginalized came into power instead of the status quo. a world where people of color, women, and the lgbt community are the rule and not the exception.
